OUR STORY
Cobnect turns the building science behind a home energy audit into something you can act on in minutes, not weeks. Clear answers, before a dollar is wasted. Built in Canada, for Canadian homes.
Cobnect began with a simple question: Why don't homes tell us how they're really doing?
We track a car's fuel efficiency down to the litre. We worry about a vehicle that costs a few hundred dollars a month to run. Yet the largest, most energy-hungry asset most of us will ever own tells us almost nothing about how it's really performing. Utility bills rise and comfort drops, yet real insight into a home's performance remains out of reach.
Audits exist, and they are rigorous. They also cost hundreds of dollars, require a booking, and arrive weeks later. Most homeowners facing a real decision before winter cannot wait for that process. Most never start it at all.
Our founders, with backgrounds in environmental science and engineering, saw the gap clearly. A home operates as a dynamic system, where structure, energy, and climate interact to shape comfort and cost. What was missing was a way to put that insight within reach of the person standing in their kitchen, trying to decide what to do.
So Cobnect was built to turn hidden home data into clear insight. We model that system, and we hand you the answer.
From cob houses, among the first durable, efficient earthen homes, built to breathe with the planet.
Connection. The bridge between that natural wisdom and today's digital intelligence.
To meet its climate commitments, Canada needs to retrofit roughly 11 million homes by 2050. At the pace we move today, that would take more than a century.
We decided not to wait that long.
OUR MISSION
We design our models and reports the way building scientists think about a home, as a physical system. That rigour is what makes the answer reliable enough to act on.
We use cutting-edge technology to remove the barriers that slowed climate action for decades; cost, time, and access. What was once out of reach is now available to everyone.
Energy performance data should not require a specialist to interpret. We do the hard work behind the scenes, so the insight feels effortless on your end.
The science is clear and the urgency is real. We exist to help people take practical, meaningful steps toward more efficient, lower-carbon homes, starting with theirs.
Chief Executive Officer
We started Cobnect because too many homeowners are making expensive energy decisions in the dark. Audits are costly, advice is confusing, and the typical retrofit plan quietly assumes you have $50,000 sitting ready. That never sat right with me. So we built Cobnect to turn complex building science into something you can actually act on, clearly, before a dollar is wasted.

The numbers are striking on their own. To meet its climate commitments, Canada needs to retrofit roughly 11 million homes by 2050. At the pace we're moving today, that would take more than a century. We didn't want to wait that long. So we built something different: practical, affordable, and made to scale, for the homeowner at the kitchen table, the city planning its next program, and the business trying to do right by both.
